An expressway is a Through highway where property access has almost or completely been eliminated. often times, at-grade intersections on them can have traffic lights.

Undivided expressway[]

An undivided expressway typically has 2 lanes (i.e. Super-2). Many of these have long intervals of highway access intentionally even with some short ones too.

A Super-4 expressway is an undivided 4-lane expressway. Some Interstate highways are a super-4 near toll booths.

RIRO expressway[]

An RIRO (right in, right out) expressway is a freeway-like expressway where there are ramp-like connections to crossroads. Often times, these crossroads will terminate but have turnarounds to continue on across the highway. On some parts, there can be typical freeway-like Interchanges.
